Transport from Malaga Airport to Fuengirola.
Fuengirola is situated just 30km from Malaga airport, on the Costa del Sol in Spain. Getting from and to the airport is quite easy, there is a direct train line running from the airport to the center of Fuengirola town, which, is also where the train line terminates. Buses also run from the Malaga airport on a regular basis and Fuengirola has a main bus station, where you can change for many other destinations.
Depending on the location of your hotel, you may require a taxi to continue your journey, these are also plentiful from directly outside the stations. Private transfers could be a better option, if you prefer a direct and fast route from the airport, to the hotel.

Destinations further than Fuengirola.
Fuengirola is the last stop for the train line from Malaga airport, after this point, taxi's or private airport transfers are your best option, unless you want to take a bus with all your luggage. Destinations such as Mijas, Marbella, Puerto Banus and Estepona are best reached with an airport transfer service.
Self Driving is possible and hire cars are available from Malaga airport at reasonably cheap rates. However, bear in mind that driving in Spain is not like the UK or Ireland, apart from driving on the wrong side, Spansh drivers can be a little reckless and the roads a little crazy. It is safer to use a driver with experience of driving on the Costa del Sol, than risk it yourself, unless you have plenty of courage!
